Let’s Get Your E-Commerce Goods to the USA

The US is the third most populated country and accounts for around a quarter of the global GDP, making it the strongest economy in the world.

This is great news for Kentucky – it produces 96% of the world’s bourbon. The Bluegrass State stores about 4.7 million barrels of bourbon, outweighing Kentucky’s population of 4.3 million residents.

There is no VAT in the US (and therefore import VAT). However, there is a sales tax. This is different to VAT. Marketplaces (e.g., Amazon) must collect and remit sales tax from sales made on their platforms. This shifts the sales tax obligation from the seller to the marketplace. This is not the case in all US states; however, most states have adopted this legislation. At the time of writing, 46 states have adopted this legislation.
